Aaaaaand we find ourselves at Ask For Janice … once again. This time, for one of my all-time favourite obsessions: Fries.
Let me explain: Most of my big life events include fries in some shape or form – and never intentionally. I had fries the day I was offered my dream job at my dream agency, I had fries when I saw Michelle Obama on her book tour, I was surprised with fries instead of cake on my favourite birthday and I shared fries on every first date that ended with a kiss.
It, therefore, might come as no surprise that I am quite particular about my fries. If they aren’t thin, golden and crispy, I don’t want them and I can’t for the life of me understand why anybody even bothered to invent potato wedges.
Since having identified London as the place in the world that I could call home, naturally, there had to be a reoccurring routine involving fries. Fridays seemed like the perfect occasion: simple, reliable, and to the point.
Ask For Janice was a hop and a skip away from my agency, adding accessibility to the perfect mix of THE Friday ritual.
Their garlic fries – fresh, with a near-perfect consistency and enhanced by the AFJ seasoned salt – were always enjoyed with good company and mustard.
I have yet to find a place that does fries better than AFJ but quite frankly, I am not in a rush.
